Werribee Park Heritage Orchard
We are a group of volunteers, restoring and preserving the
Orchard from the1870’s on the river flat at the Werribee Park Mansion grounds
We meet each Friday and the first Sunday of the month to tend to the trees in the orchard and the nursery, to carry out a whole range of tasks to care for the trees under our care. We welcome people interested in rare and heritage fruit trees who want to learn how to care for their own trees and join us in preserving these trees whilst learning at the same time. Joining is free and the benefits are many. Not least of which is tasting fruit when we pick, but also taking home some fruit for your efforts. You can get more information on how to join and what is required by clicking here,
In order for us to preserve and grow our heritage, we propagate new trees from the ones in the orchard, and then make them available for sale. We are very keen to get these wonderful old varieties back into circulation so they are never forgotten. We also cut budwood from our stone fruit trees, and scion from the rest to sell as well so that you can add to the varieties you have at home or for the fruit tree enthusiast to add to their collection. You can get further information about sales from our online store on the home page.
Pick up trees at Werribee Park on Fridays or by arrangement.
Scion can be mailed but only to Victoria, NSW and Queensland.
