Description
• Black Achan Cherry Description: Small to medium size turbinate or obovate shaped fruit (when grown to a large size) and flattened at the apex
• Skin – green-yellow on the shaded side, and strewed with grey russet patches and dots
• On the sunny side it is of a dull brown red, covered with large grey russet dots or freckles
• Stalk is an inch long, obliquely inserted under a large prominent lip, and surrounded with thin russet
• Taste: tender, buttery, juicy and sugary flesh with a rich and aromatic flavour
• Uses: Eating Background: One of the finest winter desert pears in Scotland
