Victoria Plum A chance seedling found in a garden at Alderton Sussex. Introduced by Denyer of Brixton, London in 1840. Self-fertile 3 Large, long oval, freestone Red mottled Mid-season 1 week Eating, cooking. Victoria really excels as a culinary plum. It cooks to a distinctive pink/orange puree which makes very good jam and a good-flavoured filling for pies and crumbles.
