  • Background: Originating in the 1900s possibly from Dundale plum from Kent, UK. It was first grown on a commercial scale in the Midlands and was known as Magnum, then the name changed to Warwickshire Drooper in the 1940s. Traditionally it was grown on its roots and propagated from suckers. It was also used as a rootstock in the Midlands. Heavy cropper and ripens over a few weeks so can be picked when ready
