  • Origin: The variety was from eastern part of North America in the late 1700s. It was well established in 1817 when William Coxe first mentioned it under the name Early Summer Pearmain in “A View of the Cultivation of Fruit Trees. It was listed as American Summer Pearmin by Dr Hogg in “British Pomology” Aka American Summer Pearmain, Early Summer Pearmain, Summer Pippin, Iwai (in Japan) TREE; Spur bearer
  • Fruit: Ellipsoid shaped. Medium sized fruit SKIN AND
  • Flesh: Green yellow skin with red strips. Yellowish flesh, firm, with an aromatic flavour
  • Harvest: Mid
  • Uses: Eating, cooking and excellent for drying
